Potchefstroom- Police in Phokeng are investigating a case of murder after a 5-year-old girl who was found murdered on Wednesday, 17 June 2015 at about 11:00 at her home in Chaneng near Phokeng.

According to information received, the 5-year-old girl was last seen by her family in front of her home. She was seen later, on the same day, by neighbours walking with an unknown man. The family reported her missing in the evening on the same day after she did not return home.  She was found strangled along a wall fence of her home.

The Cluster Commander of Rustenburg, Major General William Mpembe is condemning the incident and is urging the community to come forward with information that could lead to the successful arrest of the perpetrator(s).
