CAPE TOWN - Ocean View police conducted high-density patrols in their policing precinct on Saturday 03 February 2024, when the members followed up on information which led them to an address in Mbekweni Street in Masiphumele at around 15:00.

Upon arrival at the identified address, members noticed a man, fitting the description provided to them, running into the house carrying a bag on his back. The police members followed the man and brought him under control. They confiscated two firearms with ammunition and 11 cellphones. They arrested the 39-year-old man on charges of possession of a prohibited and unlicensed firearms with ammunition and possession of presumed stolen property.

The suspect is expected to make a court appearance in the Simon's Town Magistrates' Court once charged.
