Media Statement from Western Cape Media Centre Western Cape: On Monday evening 2015-06-15 at 18:30, 40 year old victim was rape in an open field. Complainant gave the description of the suspect as she knew him. On Friday evening the police got an anonymous phone call informing them of the whereabouts of the suspect. A 27 year old suspect was arrested and charged for rape. On 18 June 2015 a robbery occurred near the Hoofstreet in Hermon, the complainant was threatened by a suspect with a knife and robbed. The police were contacted and the complainant gave a brief description of the suspect. The police on their patrols saw a man fitting the description of the suspect and arrested him. The suspect was positively identified by the complainant. A 23 year old suspect was arrested and charged for robbery. Both suspects are expected to appear at Malmesbury Magistrate court on Monday 2015-06-22. Fighting crime becomes easy when the community stand together.
