WESTERN CAPE - The Western Cape Provincial Commissioner, Lt Gen (Adv.) TE Patekile officiated a medal parade this morning in Belhar where members who have served SAPS for 20, 30 and 40 years respectively were awarded medals for their long and faithful service. Five SAPS members attached to the Diving Unit have been decorated with the Silver Cross Medal for bravery during the 2021 flood rescue operation in Swellendam.

Also on parade, members who have been promoted from sergeant to warrant officer,  Warrant Officer to Captain and Captain to Lieutenant Colonel were conferred with their ranks while receiving their marching orders from the Provincial Commissioner to walk tall and make a difference in their respective environments.
