Suspects arrested for possession of mandrax and dagga

Yesterday, Madadeni Police Crime Prevention and Provincial Task Team members arrested two suspects aged 30 and 47 years for possession of drugs. The members received information about men who were dealing in drugs at Madadeni area. They proceeded to the said house, searched the suspects and recovered 434 mandrax tablets and three small plastic bags filled with dagga. The estimated street value of the mandrax is R26 010,00 and dagga is R600-00. Both suspects are expected to appear in the Madadeni Magistrates Court today, 23 June 2015.

The KwaZulu-Natal Police Commissioner, Lieutenant General Mmamonnye Ngobeni congratulated Madadeni police and Provincial Task Team for the arrest and the effort they put in combating crime in the area. “We are always pleased when we remove drugs off our streets as we know that we are minimizing the effects of drugs on our society,” she said.
