According to the information received, on 05 April 2024 at about 22:45, a woman (29) was with her male friend she met in the local tavern at Biko location under Lulekani policing area.

Apparently she requested him to accompany her to the bathroom outside. It appears they went to nearby bushes, whilst there, two unknown guys armed with firearm and knife, arrived at threatened them. They pushed them deep into the bushes, whereby they found another two males who were also armed.

Two suspects left with her to a different direction, while the other two went with the male victim to another direction. After some time, she heard gunshots and the two suspects returned. All four suspects gang raped her. Thereafter, they left her there and fled the scene. She managed to go at the main road and requested help from motorists. She was assisted and taken to local Police Station, where she opened a case of rape.

Meanwhile in Hoedspruit, an unknown suspect allegedly raped a 06-year-old child girl while she was at the school, on Friday, 05 April 2024. Her mother became aware of the ordeal, after she took off her school uniform as well as her underwear with bloodstains. She asked her child and that is when the minor informed her that another learner at school raped her.

She immediately took her to local clinic. The victim was transferred to hospital for medical treatment. A rape case was registered for further investigations.
