KIMBERLEY - The Prieska Crime Prevention Unit arrested a 36-year-old Nigerian National male for possession of drugs in Prieska on Wednesday, 17 April 2024.

The members followed up on information regarding drugs delivered at a house in Madiba Square in Prieska.

Upon arrival the team requested permission to search the premises, which was granted by the suspect and found mandrax tablets, cocaine and crystal meth with an estimated street value of R68 490-00.

The suspect was arrested and charged for illegal possession of drugs and will appear in the Prieska Magistrates Court soon.

The Provincial Commissioner of the Northern Cape, Lieutenant General Koliswa Otola, commended the public for reporting criminality to the police.

She praised the Prieska Crime Prevention Unit members for the swift response.

The public is encouraged to rate the police efforts in fighting crime by participating in the "RATE OUR SERVICE" online survey to assist the police in improving services.
