Vigilant Colesberg police intercept truck with drugs

NORTHERN CAPE - The Colesberg SAPS operationalised information they received and intercepted a truck at a fuel station in Colesberg that was allegedly transporting Khat.

It is believed the truck was en-route from Johannesburg to Cape Town.

Police searched the truck and found twelve (12) boxes containing more than 2300 bundles of Khat. The weight of the Khat is 45kg and has an estimated street value of R117 000-00.

A 41-year-old male suspect was arrested for illegal possession of drugs and illegal dealing in drugs.

The suspect is expected to appear in the Colesberg Magistrates Court soon. The investigation continues.

The SAPS encourages the community to participate in the "RATE OUR SERVICE "  online survey and assist the police in improving our service to the public.
