WESTERN CAPE - A 30-year-old male suspect from Malmesbury was intercepted on the R315, while transporting drugs on Wednesday, 28 January 2026.

Darling police acted on information received about a vehicle transporting drugs at around 09:00. They spotted a vehicle fitting the description, but the driver stopped and ran towards a nearby farm on foot. Members gave chase and he was apprehended. The members searched the suspect and recovered 504 mandrax tablets and 19 straws of tik. He was arrested, and while processing him, Darling police discovered that he is a suspect in an ongoing attempted murder case at Malmesbury.

The suspect will appear in the Malmesbury Magistrate’s court on Thursday, 29 January 2026 for dealing in drugs.
