WESTERN CAPE - The distribution of drugs which is the root cause of gang violence in our communities dealt a blow when members of Operation Shanela searched a premises in Lentegeur on Friday evening.

The members searched a premises in Honeysuckle Street, Lentegeur during crime prevention operations after they gathered information of drugs that is stored at the premises. During the search of the premises the members confiscated 840 packets containing crystal meth and 552 mandrax tablets that was found inside the house. A 29-year-old suspect was arrested for the possession of drugs.

He will appear in the Mitchell’s Plain Magistrates’ court on Monday on the mentioned charge.
