Manhunt launched for hijackers in Botshabelo

BOTSHABELO – A victim was attacked on arrival at his home in Botshabelo and his vehicle was hijacked and found burned near a water plant.

On 20 June 2024 at about 16:35, a 40-year-old man from H-Section alleges that he arrived at his house, parked his vehicle in front of the gate, opened the gate and walked back to the vehicle.

Suddenly an unknown African male ran towards him pointing him with a firearm, followed by the second suspect and the third one who got into the vehicle and they all drove away in his vehicle. The suspect who pointed him with a firearm had a black hat and a blue cover. The other one was also wearing a black hat with a black jacket.

The suspects drove away in the victim's Volkswagen Polo TSI with Reg: HJS 312 FS silver in colour.  The victim's personal belongings were in the vehicle.

Botshabelo police were summoned to the scene and a case of hijacking was opened for further investigation.  The vehicle fitting the description was found burned near the water purification plant few hours later.
