Media Statement FREE STATE - On 4 October 2023, the Bloemfontein Magistrates' court convicted and sentenced the wife of retired Luckhoff SAPS, Nompi Agnes Molosioa (63), for her attempts at making alleged rape charges against her son disappear. The Hawks' Serious Corruption Investigation became involved when, in 2015, a rape victim accused Nompi and her husband of intimidation and offering her R1 000-00 to withdraw charges against their son. Corruption and defeating the ends of justice case against the retired Station Commander were withdrawn. Nompi, however, was found guilty. Free State Head of the Directorate for Priority Crime Investigation (Hawks), Major General Mokgadi Bokaba has welcomed the sentencing. "It is a criminal offense to sweep a known crime under the carpet. More shameful is when one tries to use the influence of those they are associated with to sway the outcome of a police investigation," she said. Nompi Agnes Molosioa was sentenced to five years imprisonment suspended for five years for defeating the ends of justice. Ends
