Male suspect aged 28 arrested in connection with Mankweng fraud case

POLOKWANE - Members of SAPS Provincial Commercial Crime arrested a 28-year-old man for a case of fraud that took place in 2023.

According to information provided, the suspect solicited a cash amount of R15 000-00 from the victim by offering to assist him to get a teaching post that he applied at a local Secondary School in the Mankweng policing area.

The complainant then deposited the money into the bank provided to him. On 27 March 2023, the complainant reported the matter to the Police. A case of fraud was registered for further investigations.

The docket was transferred to the relevant unit at the Provincial Commercial Crime Unit.

Subsequent to the intensive Police investigation, on Tuesday, 16 July 2024, the suspect aged 28 was arrested for fraud at Lulekani.

He will appear before the Mankweng Regional Court on Wednesday, 17 July 2024.

The Police investigations are ongoing.
