KIMBERLEY - On Wednesday, 28 August 2024, members from the Provincial Organised Crime Unit followed up on information received regarding a case of housebreaking and theft that was reported.

Upon arrival at the identified premises in Mogul Park a male person was found on the premises and questioned.

He informed the police that he knew where the suspected stolen goods were sold and led the police to a house in Stokroos Street, Squarehill Park.

The house was searched, and industrial power tools were found, which were allegedly stolen.

Two (2) suspects aged 36 and 68 were arrested for possession of suspected stolen property. The duo then informed the police where the other goods were stored.

The information provided led the police to Tswelopelo Correctional Service where a member was approached and he took police to his house where they found a suspected stolen 55-inch plasma television, and subsequently arrested the 61-year-old suspect.

Upon further investigation, police recovered laptops, a cellphone, electrical equipment, and a television worth approximately R45 000.

The Acting District Commissioner of Frances Baard District Brigadier Nicholas Mtongana applauded members for their continued efforts in responding swiftly to information received and recovering suspected stolen goods that resulted in the arrest of the suspects. The public is urged not to buy stolen goods offered for sale as it is a criminal offence.
