FREE STATE - On Thursday 23 October 2024, the Proactive Team, deployed for illicit mining activities in the Free State, conducted inspections in terms of Second-hand Goods Act at scrap yards in Theunissen Safer Fesive Season. The team then received information about a drug post in Bultfontein.

A search was conducted and 50 bankies or zip lock plastics containing dried leaves of dagga were found. Loose dagga weighing 250 grams was found inside a black refuse bag. Cash believed to be proceeds of drugs sale was also confiscated. The police then arrested the 34-year-old male for being in possession and dealing in dagga. A case of Dealing in dagga was opened at Bultfontein Police Station.

The suspect will appear in Court soon.
