Media Statement from Western Cape Media Centre Western Cape: Durbanville police are investigating Murder and Attempted Murder cases after three (3) suspects entered the house and demanded the husband’s firearm who was not at home at the time. The incident is alleged to have occurred last night (2015-05-09) when suspects forced the wife to phone the husband and to tell him the child is sick which she then did. When the husband arrived at home, the suspects shot the husband on the head and the child in the stomach and then took the deceased firearm Norinco 9mm. The 36 year old mother and her one(1) year 9 months old child were taken to a nearby hospital. According to the reports, the three (3) suspects pretended to be police officials in private clothes. The circumstances surrounding this incident are currently under investigation. No arrest is made at this stage. The police are appealing to anyone will information regarding this incident to please contact the nearest police station, alternatively Crime Stop number 086 00 10111.
