African Police Service 14 February 2013 The KwaZulu-Natal Police
arrested a 52-year-old Induna for possession of unlicensed firearms and
ammunition. The arrested suspect will be appearing today, 14 February
2013 at the Empangeni Magistrates Court. In the early hours of this morning,
14 February 2013 police conducted an operation for illegal firearms in the
area. Investigations led the members to a house at Mgazini area, Empangeni. Two
9mm pistols with six live rounds of ammunition were recovered in the house. The
suspect failed to produce any documentation in terms of the
Firearms Control Act. He was then arrested and charged for
being in possession unlicensed firearm and ammunition. KwaZulu-Natal Provincial
Commissioner, Lieutenant General Mmamonnye Ngobeni applauded the members for
the swift arrest of the suspect and recovery of the illegal firearms and
ammunition. She also commended the community for working with police rid the
