House robbery suspect sought in Woodstock

Western Cape: On 18 July 2015 at approximately 05:00, Woodstock SAPS members were called out to Eden Road, Walmer Estate to investigate an incident where 55-year-old man was attacked inside his home.

It is alleged by the complainant that whilst he was sleeping in his bedroom, he heard a noise coming from one of the rooms upstairs. The complainant went to investigate and as he came up the stairs, he noticed that somebody was entering the house from the balcony area. A scuffle ensued where the suspect took out a knife and stabbed the complainant several times. The complainant also managed to remove the balaclava of the suspect and noticed that it was somebody that used to stay with him previously. When the complainant called the name of the suspect, he ran down stairs and locked himself in the main bedroom, broke a window and fled on foot in an unknown direction. The suspect managed to take the complainants phone before fleeing the scene.

The complainant was taken to a nearby hospital for medical treatment and is currently in a stable condition. The suspect is known to the complainant as Patrick Abongile Bill (29) and is from the Kraaifontein and Kuils River area.

A case of house robbery case was opened for investigation purposes and the suspect is still at large.
