Isipingo and Amanzimtoti police are looking for three men who may assist the police in three cases of hijacking that occurred in the Isipingo and Amanzimtoti areas.

It is alleged that on 8 September 2015 at about 12:15, a car dealer was lured by a suspect who pretended to be a buyer; the alleged suspect requested to test drive a vehicle which was sent to him. Along the way, the suspect and the car dealer were joined by two armed suspects after which they all drove towards the Folweni area. The suspects allegedly noticed a police van before abandoning the vehicle and fleeing on foot.

On the same day at about 15:30, a salesman from another car dealer drove a vehicle to an alleged buyer in Isipingo who had requested to test drive the vehicle; on the way he picked up two armed men. They all drove towards Adams Mission where they dropped him off and fled with the vehicle.

The third incident occurred on 7 September 2015; a 44-year-old salesman was driving with an alleged buyer when they were accosted by two suspects at gunpoint who instructed them to drive towards the freeway. He was dropped off on the freeway and all fled. Car hijacking cases are being investigated by the Isipingo and Amanzimtoti police.

Car dealers are advised to take extra precautions when dealing with their customers in terms of test driving; they must be escorted by a security company.

Anyone with information regarding the above mentioned cases is urged to contact Isipingo Police Station on 031 913 3409, Amanzimtoti police on 031 913 1308 or our Crime Stop number 08600 10111.
