KWADUKUZA – On Wednesday, 12 March 2025, a 38-year-old suspect was arrested and an illegal firearm and ammunition were found as a result of Sundumbili police swift's investigation into an attempted murder case.

It is alleged that the victim was shot by the suspect during a dispute, the victim was rushed to a local clinic and was later transported to a hospital in KwaDukuza.

Police traced the suspect’s whereabouts, and arrested him in the Mandeni policing precinct, the suspect was found in possession of an illegal firearm with the serial number filed off and 12 live rounds of ammunition.

The suspect was immediately arrested and charged for possession of an unlicensed firearm and unlawful possession of ammunition, as well as him being positively linked to the attempted murder case.

The suspect will appear in Nyoni Magistrates’ Court in due time.
