Female suspect arrested in ongoing effort to secure mining communities

KIMBERLEY - Operation Vala Umgodi continues to demonstrate its unwavering commitment to combatting illegal mining and associated criminal activities.

On Thursday, 15 May 2025, a multi-disciplinary team operating in Kimberley arrested a 33-year-old female suspect for drug dealing at Snake Park.

The arrest followed the execution of multiple search warrants based on information provided by the public regarding drug-related activity at various addresses in the mining areas of Kimberley.

During the operation, the team discovered mandrax and crystal meth with an estimated street value of R10 000, along with cash suspected to be proceeds of criminal activity.

Operation Vala Umgodi remains dedicated to asserting the authority of the state and ensuring the safety and security of all mining communities across the Northern Cape.
