Paarl East detectives investigate case of missing teenage girl

WESTERN CAPE - Paarl East police in the Cape Winelands district have been searching for a missing teenage girl(16- years-old) since 28 May when she was reported missing by her mother.

According to the mother she last saw Chantelle on 14 May 2025.

She did not report Chantelle missing then because she usually stays away for long periods but comes back eventually.

Information was followed up and a shoe was found near an open hole in the ground inside woods.

Meanwhile the body of a female was discovered buried in the woods on Monday evening. DNA testing is yet to be conducted on the body to determine whether it is that of the missing  teenager, Chantelle Plaatjies.
