EASTERN CAPE - Police arrested two males aged 31 and 34 for theft of a motor vehicle on Monday at Komga.

Police followed up on information they received about a vehicle that was stolen at Scenary Park in East London. They spotted the vehicle, gave chase and managed to arrest two males. Upon searching the two males and the vehicle, police recovered an unlicensed firearm with a magazine. Both suspects werecharged for theft of a motor vehicle and possession of an unlicensed firearm.

They are due to appear at Komga Magistrate Court on Tuesday.

The Acting Amathole District Commissioner Brigadier Ngangema Xakavu applauded the members for following up on the information that led to the recovery of the stolen vehicle and an unlicensed firearm.  “We have prevented crime that was going to be committed with this vehicle and firearm”, he added.
