Members of Duduza SAPS Social Crime Prevention Unit, Sgt Harry Manaka and Sector 2 Commander, Sgt Matilda Nkabinde took liberty to raise the awareness of Youth Month at Zakheni Primary School.

The objective was to inform learners about the importance of the South African National Flag. The meaning of the colours, and the role played by the youth in 1976 and many years after to ensure that education was accessible to all.

The members then also demonstrated the correct handling and hoisting of the national flag, which was declared will be a daily practice at the school.

The flag symbolizes pride, discipline and respect of the institution and the hoisting should be done correctly. Learners were also told never to engage in criminal activities, but stay in school and be proud of the National Flag.
