Media Statement POLOKWANE - On Wednesday, 18 June 2025, the Provincial Commissioner of Police in Limpopo, Lieutenant General Thembi Hadebe, attended a meeting with the community leaders of Bungeni to receive a presentation regarding a proposal on the establishment of a fully-fledged Police Station at the area. The meeting was held at Bungeni Tribal Offices. It was attended by the Station Commander of Waterval Lieutenant Colonel Madzhigili, SAPS members from Waterval, Provincial Organisational Development and Strategic, various stakeholders such as Mabunda Royal Council, Business Forum, Ward Councillor, Youth Community Leaders and other stakeholders. Amongst other reasons stipulated, as a motivation was that their area is developing fast and has a variety of business structures, and criminals are likely to target their area. The Provincial Commissioner Lieutenant General Thembi Hadebe, in her response, she assured the Bungeni Community that a feasibility study will be conducted by the relevant office of the Provincial Organisational Development and Strategic and feedback will be provided. She further promised the community that the current structure of a satellite station will be revisited to make it a 24-hour operating centre to service the communities in the area. She also appreciated their (Community) efforts of coming up with strategies and working hand in closely with the Police to fight crime in the area. Ends
