ESTERN CAPE - The Bellville based Serious Commercial Crime Investigation team collaborated with South African Revenue Service (SARS) in arresting two suspects aged 37 and 51 respectively, on 12 June 2025 on charges of fraud on warrants of arrest. It is reported that Triple C Maintainance and Services appointed one of the suspect as their accountant to assist with their tax related matters. The suspect requested the owner of the Triple C Maintainance and Services to transfer approximately R50 million over the period from 2023 to 2025 into her personal bank account so that she would transfer it to SARS on behalf of the company. The second suspect, employed at IJS Charted Accountants assisted the first suspect in providing false information on documents that were submitted to SARS. Upon investigation by the Hawks, it was established that the first suspect only transferred a small amount to SARS.
Both suspects are expected to appear at the Kuilsriver Magistrates Court on 13 June 2025.
