KOMANI - Three suspects linked to the murder of the Chief Whip of Emalahleni Local Municipality, Mr Xoliseka Lali appeared before the Queenstown Magistrate’s Court today, 30 July 2025. 

The accused Bavuyise Mdingi (37),  Mvuzo Mafana(41) and Sonwabiso Siko (43) have been remanded in custody until their next court appearance. 

The case was postponed to 06 August 2025. 

The SAPS confirms that investigations into this matter remain active and appeals to the public to refrain from speculation. The judicial process will be respected, and updates will be provided as appropriate.
