EAST LONDON - The South African Police Service (SAPS) in Scenery Park has opened a murder investigation following a fatal shooting incident that occurred on 04 August 2025 at a residence in Dice, Reeston.

According to reports, neighbours responded to the scene after hearing gunshots. Upon arrival, they discovered the bodies of a 40-year-old adult male and his 35-year-old pregnant wife, who was approximately 8-9 months pregnant. 

The female victim was found lying outside the kitchen door with two gunshot wounds to the left thigh and one to the stomach. The male victim was found inside the house, behind the kitchen door, lying face down with two bullet wounds to the left side of the chest and one to the neck. 

At this stage, the motive for the attack remains unknown, and no arrests have been made. Police have launched a manhunt for the suspects and are appealing to the public for any information that could assist in the investigation. 

The SAPS urges anyone with information related to this incident to report to the Scenery Park SAPS or contact Crime Stop at 08600 10111. Information may be provided anonymously. 

The SAPS strongly condemns this senseless act of violence and assures the community that all necessary resources are being utilized to ensure justice is served.
