HUMANSDORP - Police have opened an inquest docket, after a pilot died when the helicopter crashed on a farm outside Patensie today, 10 November 2025.

It is alleged that a female crop duster pilot (43) died instantly when the Robinson helicopter crashed on the Roodegrond farm after hitting power lines.

It is believed that the freak incident occurred at about 07:45, when the helicopter was spraying crops at the farm outside Patensie.

The identity of the deceased pilot is withheld until a formal identification process is concluded
