NELSPRUIT - Six suspects, aged between 19 and 38 were arrested in the Acornhoek area during a disruptive operation by members of the Police on Tuesday, 16 December 2025.

During the exercise, dedicated law enforcement members apprehended the suspects for various offences including Contravention of Immigration Act of South Africa, possession of illicit cigarettes and possession of dagga.

The operation highlights the ongoing efforts by Police, and other law enforcement agencies, to combat all forms of criminality. During the operation, different kinds of beverages, cigarettes and dagga were seized.

The Detectives are working collaboratively with officials from the department of Home Affairs to ascertain the status of the arrested suspects.

The suspects were charged accordingly and are expected to appear at the Acornhoek Magistrate's Court soon.

The Acting Provincial Commissioner of the SAPS in Mpumalanga, Major General (Dr) Zeph Mkhwanazi, has welcomed the arrest made.
