Collaboration between Gauteng and Limpopo lead to re-arrest of male for drug smuggling

POLOKWANE - Members of Limpopo Provincial Organised Crime Narcotics received information that there was a white male who committed a case of drugs smuggling at OR Tambo International Airport in Gauteng Province and he failed to appear before court. The suspect was a wanted man as a warrant of arrest was already issued against him.

The team members sought to confirm with OR Tambo International Airport detectives if indeed the warrant of arrest was issued against the suspect and it was confirmed .

Members who were working with private security embarked on a search operation to trace the suspect until they found him at Mookgopong, Waterberg District and he was immediately arrested.

The suspect is currently detained in Mokopane.

The Provincial Commissioner of the police in Limpopo Lieutenant General Thembi Hadebe has praised members for being vigilant in the execution of their duties

The suspect is expected to appear before the local Magistrate's Court in Gauteng to face charges of drugs smuggling.
