Media Statement KIMBERLEY - The Northern Cape Provincial Commissioner, Lieutenant General Koliswa Otola together with the Deputy Provincial Commissioner for Crime Detection, Major General Luntu Ngubelanga, the Deputy Provincial Commissioner for Policing, Major General Johnny Besnaar, the Provincial Head of Crime Intelligence, Major General Jacques Raymond and the Frances Baard District Commissioner, Major General Charlotte Makgari conferred ranks to officers and members promoted in the Northern Cape province during phase one of the 2025/2026 post promotions. On Thursday, 5 February 2026, Lieutenant General Otola congratulated the 80 officers and members who were promoted within the Northern Cape Province during this phase and conferred their new ranks. New ranks were conferred to: Colonel A Witbooi – Provincial Commander: Risk & Integrity Management Colonel Z Mosho – Legal Administration Officer Manager: Provincial Legal Support Colonel I Bok – District Visible Policing Commander: Frances Baard District – Visible Compliance Colonel SP Moholoane – District Detective Service Commander: Frances Baard District – Investigation Compliance Colonel ME Seiphehlo – District Visible Policing Commander: ZF Mgcawu District – Visible Compliance Colonel C van Wyk – Provincial Technology Management Services Lieutenant Colonel MA Mphahlele – Forensic Social Work Supervisor – Provincial Forensic Social Work Captain SS Matsi – Visible Policing Commander: Pampierstad Captain L Gloy – Visible Policing Commander: Warrenton Captain MA Moses – Kimberley 10111 Call Centre Supervisor Captain KD Clarke – Firearm, Liquor & Second-Hand Goods Supervisor Captain K Sebetlela – Division Technology Management Services Warrant Officer VM Ramookho – Visible Policing Commander: Delportshoop Warrant Officer JE Petro – Station Support Services Manager: Franserburg Warrant Officer MR Pilane – Head Office Corporate Communication: Sound Engineer Warrant Officer PE Nodom – Radio Technical: Upington In her address, she reminded appointees that they will be fronted with additional responsibilities in their new positions and to endure challenges in an impartial and unbiased manner. She emphasised the importance of respect to ensure success and admiration. “Respect is earned and not demanded”, said the Provincial Commissioner. She stated that self-discipline and accountability are vital characteristics to possess in order to be an exceptional leader. Discipline should be implemented to correct and not to oppress. She also encouraged appointees to inspire to maintain their firearm competency and physical fitness. The conferring of ranks will be hosted by District Commissioners across all five districts in the Northern Cape Province soon. Ends
