Media Statement POLOKWANE - Police in Saamboubrug under Capricorn District have arrested a suspect in connection with a murder incident that occurred in the early hours of Friday, 20 March 2026, at one of the farms in the area, at about 00:30. Police members responded to a complaint of intruders at a farm. Upon arrival, they found an adult African male lying motionless on the ground with gunshot wounds. Emergency Medical Services personnel were summoned, and declared him deceased at the scene. It is alleged that a security guard, who was part of a team hired to patrol the farm, discharged a firearm after noticing movement on the premises. During the incident, one person was fatally wounded. The suspect, was arrested at the scene and is expected to appear before the local Magistrate’s Court soon on a charge of murder. The identity of the deceased is still unknown at this stage. The Police investigations are continuing. Ends
