Media Statement POLOKWANE - The police in Tubatse have executed the apprehension of two male suspects in connection with two separate murder incidents committed over the weekend on Saturday, 21 March 2026. In the first incident, a 20-year-old male suspect was arrested for the murder of a 23-year-old male victim who was fatally stabbed at a local tavern in Bothashoek, Tubatse in the early hours of Saturday, 21 March 2026. The victim was rushed to the hospital, where he was pronounced dead on arrival. Preliminary investigations suggest the stabbing occurred during an altercation at the tavern, and the suspect fled the scene on foot immediately after the incident. In the second incident, a 58-year-old male suspect was arrested for the murder of his 42-year-old wife at their residence in Shushumela, Praktiseer location. Police were informed about the incident and found the victim lying in a pool of blood with a visible wound on her right leg. The victim was certified dead by members of the Emergency Medical Services (EMS) upon arrival at the scene. Preliminary investigations revealed that the suspect, together with his wife were consuming alcohol at their residence when they had a heated argument, which led to the tragic event. Both suspects are currently in police custody and will appear before the Praktiseer Magistrate’s Court soon, and the sharp objects used in the commission of the crime were also seized. Provincial Commissioner of Limpopo Lieutenant General Thembi Hadebe said, "We are committed to ensuring that justice is served in these cases. I would like to remind the public that violence will not be tolerated and perpetrators will face the full force of the law" Police investigations are continuing. Ends
