POLOKWANE - The South African Police Service in Limpopo have arrested over 747 suspects for various offenses ahead of the Easter holidays during a joint high-density multi-disciplinary Operation Shanela II Kukula across the province from Monday, 23 until Sunday morning 29 March 2026.

The operation was executed through well-coordinated roadblocks, stop and searches, tracing of wanted suspects, and heightened police visibility.

The suspects were arrested for offense, including:

• 15 of Murder
• Assault GBH 103
• Assault common 75
• Rape 25
• Five Robbery residence
• Five Robbery business
• Nine Robbery with aggravating circumstances
• 49 Possession of drugs
• 04 Possession of counterfeit goods
• 73 illegal dealing in liquor
• 188 illegal immigrants
• 14 driving under the influence of liquor
• 42 malicious damage to property
• 12 burglary business

• Alcohol beverages 485 202L
• Ammunition 10
• Counterfeit goods 300
• Dangerous weapons 22
• Drugs crystal meth 0,116g
• Drugs Nyaope 0,408g
• Three firearms handguns
• Three Firearms shotgun
• Eight Tobacco packets

The arrested suspects have already started to appear before different Magistrate's Courts facing various offenses. The Provincial Commissioner of Police in Limpopo Lieutenant General Thembi Hadebe welcomed the successes and appreciated all members and other law enforcement agencies for working together in fighting crime.
