POLOKWANE – Police in Polokwane have launched a manhunt for unknown suspect(s) following the discovery of the body of an unknown female on Saturday, 04 April 2026 at approximately 08:00.

It is alleged that a municipal cleaner was busy cleaning when he discovered the body of a female lying in the bushes next to the road, opposite Polokwane Airport and near the K9 (Dog Unit).

Emergency Medical Services personnel were summoned to the scene and upon examination, the victim was found to have sustained injuries to the head. The deceased is estimated to be approximately 35-year-old and was found wearing blue jeans and topless at the time of discovery.

Preliminary investigations indicate that the victim may have been murdered elsewhere and her body dumped at the identified location by unknown suspect(s).

All relevant role players attended the scene and police have since launched a manhunt for the suspect(s) involved.

Police are appealing to anyone with information that can assist in identifying the victim or lead to the arrest of the suspect(s) to contact the Investigating Officer, Sergeant Simon Ramothopo, on 079 397 0356 or the nearest police station, or Crime Stop number 08600 10111.

Investigations are continuing.
