GQEBERHA - Mount Road SAPS members made a significant drug bust on the evening of Wednesday, 08 April 2026, at approximately 20:29 in Woodpecker Street, Cotswold, Gqeberha.

While conducting routine patrols in the area, SAPS members were flagged down by a private security company who had searched a male foreign national and allegedly found drugs in his possession. The suspect had reportedly been at a storage locker when his suspicious behaviour triggered an alarm, prompting a response from the security company.

Upon noticing the arrival of SAPS members, the suspect dropped a black plastic bag and fled the scene by jumping over a high wall. He remains at large.

Police proceeded to search the storage locker as well as the discarded bag. The following items were confiscated:
- 217 grams of crack cocaine
- 889.5 grams of crystal methamphetamine
- 303 kilograms of compressed dagga
- A red Mini Cooper, which was impounded

The estimated street value of the confiscated drugs is approximately R2 million.

No arrests have been made at this stage, and investigations are ongoing to locate the suspect.
