SPRINGBOK - Members of the South African Police Service in Port Nolloth acted swiftly in the early hours of Thursday, 09 April 2026, when a suspect was apprehended for allegedly dealing in dagga.

At approximately 00:01, SAPS members conducted a stop-and-search operation at the Sizamile Four-Way Stop.

During the search, police discovered a 20-litre bucket containing dagga, with an estimated street value of R81 100-00, in the possession of the suspect.

A 37-year-old male was subsequently arrested for dealing in dagga and is expected to appear in the Port Nolloth Magistrate’s Court soon.

This arrest underscores SAPS’s continued commitment to curbing the trade and distribution of illegal substances within the Namakwa District.
