On Sunday 2016-01-31 at about 17:00 a person who works as a mechanic arrived home to a gruesome discovery in F-Section, Botshabelo. Inside a stationary vehicle, brought to him to be fixed, contained four boys aged between 7 and 10 of which two of them had already succumbed to a lack of oxygen and the scourging heat. It is alleged that the boys were playing next to the vehicle and ended up locking themselves inside the vehicle and the vehicle’s door handles can only open from outside.  On arrival at the scene members of the community had already taken out the four boys and two others, aged 6 and 8, were taken by an ambulance while the other two, aged 7 and 9, died. The deceased are brothers from one family and the two that survived are also from another family. Community members are yet again urged to monitor their children while playing, more especially if children are playing near broken down vehicles, fridges and other equipment that cannot be opened from inside.  Botshabelo Police are investigating an inquest docket and investigations continue.
