Media Statement from Northern Cape Media Centre Brigadier Nomana Adonis was appointed as Galeshewe Station Commander in December 2015. Those who know her will confirm that she is a very competent, experience and skilled leader and well suited to lead Galeshewe Station. She is originally from Bizana in the Eastern Cape. Brigadier Adonis brings with her 23 years of experience in South African Police Service, having gone up within the ranks in SAPS since her joining in 1993.She completed her police training in Umtata Police College in Eastern Cape. After completing her training she worked at Bizana Police Station as a Constable.In 1998 she was promoted to a rank of a Sergeant and later got a transfer to Bisho Police College. In 2005 she was promoted to a rank of a Warrant Officer and she was appointed as a Station Commander of Seven Fountains Police Station in Grahamstown. She served seven years as a Station Commander in different Police Stations in the Eastern Cape. Including Mtontsasana Police Station as a Captain, and Barkly East Police Station as a Lt Colonel. In 2012 she was promoted to a rank of Colonel and she was appointed as a Station Commander in Hermanus Police Station in Western Cape. Brigadier Adonis has also excelled in academics boasting a National Diploma in Human Resource Management and Bachelor’s Degree in Policing. In 2006 she was nominated as the Best Woman serving in the front line in Eastern Cape. In 2011 she was nominated as a Provincial Women’s Network champion in Eastern Cape. Brigadier Adonis declares that she is here to take the hands of the community and fight crime in unity, with one goal that everyone is and feels safe.
