The Kimberley Cluster Commander Major General Jean Abraham, welcomed the 7 years jail term handed down by the Kimberley Regional Magistrate Court, against two men in connection with the rape of a 20-year-old man from Greenpoint in Kimberley. A 28-year-old Shawn Leonard September and his 25-year-old accomplice Brendon Ralph Hugo were sentenced last week by the Kimberley Regional Magistrate’s Court to an effective 7 years direct imprisonment.

On 2014 December 13, the duo dragged a 20-year-old man from Greenpoint into a nearby shack and took turns raping him. The 20-year-old managed to escape from the hands of the rapist and reported the matter to the police.

They were immediately arrested after they were pointed out by the 20-year-old. 

Major General Jean Abraham commended the investigation team, for securing the imprisonment of the two rapists.
