Media Statement from KwaZulu Natal Media Centre A 33-year-old suspect is expected to appear in the Pinetown Magistrate’s Court today, 16 May 2016 following his arrest last Thursday by the National Security Intelligence and KwaZulu-Natal Hawks for business robbery. The suspect was arrested at Nazareth area after the police received intelligence about his whereabouts. On 3 May 2016 at approximately 18:30, a security guard collected two bags of money from a company in Wareings road, Pinetown when he was accosted by two unknown suspects at gunpoint. The suspects allegedly fired shots at the security guard before fleeing the scene with two bags containing an undisclosed amount of cash. The service pistol belonging to the security guard was also stolen by the suspects who fled the scene in a white Toyota Corolla. KwaZulu-Natal Provincial Commissioner, Lieutenant General Mmamonnye Ngobeni praised the members for the swift arrest of the suspect. “With the help of our communities, who continue to partner with us in the battle against crime, we remain confident of imminent arrests,” she said.
