On Friday, 27 May 2016, Amangwe SAPS members were busy with crime prevention patrols when they received information regarding a stash of dagga.  The police officers made their way to the scene and on arrival they spotted a small group of suspects in the distance. The suspects immediately fled when they saw the approaching police vehicle. The dagga was seized and weighs in at 117kg. The stash is comprised of four bags and two containers filled with dry dagga. The estimated street value of the dagga is around R176 000.
