POLOKWANE - Two rhino poachers have been arrested, a rifle and two horns were also recovered following the killing a rhino cow in Pafuri at the Kruger National Park.

 

The two suspects were arrested late on Friday inside the park with a 458 hunting rifle and two rhino horns.  Further police investigations led the police to the rhino carcass the following day.  The suspects, who are all foreign nationals, are aged 48 and 33. They are expected to appear before the Makhado Magistrates Court on Monday on charges of the illegal possession of a fire-arm and ammunition as well as charges of rhino poaching.  Further police investigations continue.

 

The Provincial Commissioner of the South African Police Service in Limpopo has applauded the good and speedy work rendered by SAPS members which led to the arrest of the suspects.  He reiterated that police will continue to deal with rhino poachers at all times.
