Assistance sought by Chatsworth FCS

The Chatsworth Family Violence, Child Protection and Sexual Offences Unit would like to make an appeal to the members of the community to assist them with regards to a case of rape that the FCS Unit is currently investigating. It is alleged that a 7-year-old victim was waiting outside the gate at her primary school in Marianhill when she was approached by the unknown suspect and lured to the nearby bushes. The suspect undressed the victim and forced himself on the victim and began to rape her, the suspect then ordered the victim to get dressed and go home. According to the victim, the suspect had repeated the scenario on a different day and attempted to repeat the incident for the third time. During the third attempt, the victim hid in the school until the suspect left the area.

A case was opened at Marianhill Police Station and is being investigated by the Chatsworth Family Violence, Child Protection and Sexual Offences Unit. The FCS Unit believes that the man in the attached identikit can be of assistance in solving the case. The suspect is in his thirties, slender built and medium in height, and dark in completion and speaks IsiZulu.
