UITENHAGE– Two robbers were caught in the act during a brazen robbery yesterday afternoon, Thursday, 24 November 2016 at about 16:20.  It is alleged that the two armed male suspects entered a business in Mtyingizane Street, Kwanobuhle and demanded cash from the owner.  The suspects took an undisclosed amount of money, cellphones, groceries and airtime from the shop.  The suspects and the owner (36-years-old) of the shop were involved in a scuffle in which the owner sustained an injury to his arm.  The owner managed to notify the local police who acted swiftly and apprehended the two males in the shop.  All the items were recovered and police confiscated a replica gun from the one suspect.  (Both suspects are in their 20’s).

The two suspects were arrested and will face a charge of business robbery.  They are due to appear in the Kwanobuhle Magistrate’s Court on Monday, 28 November 2016, on a charge of business robbery.  The Station Commander of SAPS Kwanobuhle, Colonel Zolani Xawuka praised the police officials for their speedily response and the apprehension of the suspects.  #CrimeMustFall.
