The South African Police Service in Despatch are investigating a case of culpable homicide following a fatal collision between a white Isuzu bakkie and a pedestrian at 04:45 on Saturday, 29 January 2022 on the R75, Despatch. 

It is alleged that the driver of the Isuzu bakkie was travelling on the R75 in the direction of Kariega when an unknown male suddenly appeared in front of the vehicle. The driver collided with the unknown pedestrian, who passed on at the scene.  The pedestrian (age about 60) was clad in a pair of blue jeans, a thick green jersey and a pair of black formal shoes.

Despatch SAPS are appealing to anyone who might be looking for a relative or who can assist in identifying the victim to contact Despatch detective on 082 441 7828, Crime Stop on 08600 10111 or by using MySAPS app.

Investigations are continuing.
