KWAZULU-NATAL – On Thursday, 14 July 2022 Hawks members from Pietermaritzburg Serious Organised Crime Investigation and Hammarsdale police station members arrested a 33-year-old suspect for dealing in drugs. 

It is alleged that members received information about a truck which was off loading cargo in one of the warehouse in Hammarsdale. They proceeded to the said warehouse and a search was conducted. Whilst opening boxes 35 kilograms of crystal meth with a street value of approximately R5.2 million was found.

The driver was subsequently arrested and charged for dealing in drugs. He is expected to appear in the Hammarsdale Magistrate’s court today.
