SAPS Research

Should the researcher be required to conduct research within the SAPS by means of questionnaires and interviews, reference must be made to National Instruction 4 of 2022 (attached), which requires the submission of three (3) completed documents (Annexures A–C), together with two (2) supporting documents. In total, five (5) documents must be submitted for consideration of an application to conduct research.

  • Final approved research proposal; and
  • A certificate issued by the academic institution under whose patronage the research is conducted, confirming the final approved ethical clearance of the research and indicating that the institution’s Research Ethics Committee approved the proposal.
